SportsBoard believes its role in helping coaches goes well beyond just assessment. So we are committed to aggregating content relevant to coaching that we encounter which we believe our coaching customers should know more about. Some of this content is general, and some of it is sport-specific so over time this page of our site will evolve.
Recruiting
NCSA has partnered with National Fastpitch Coaches Association to provide recruit education to athletes and their families and offers a service that is intended to greatly assist the entire recruiting process. NCSA is a member of the Global Softball Consortium, of which SportsBoard is also a member as listed on our Partners page.
Concussions
Education about concussions is only the beginning of the content we are going to list under Sports Medicine. This particular aspect is near and dear to us though as one of our investor's sons played football through high school and then experienced serious medical issues at Trinity College while playing football, all a result of improper diagnosis of concussions.
NFCA Objective Measurables
Football, Baseball and Volleyball have published standards for measuring objective physical skills for years. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association is proud to join these sports with its initial list of standards. Through the Global Softball Consortium, of which SportsBoard is a member, we are joining a team of technology partners who will facilitate in the data collection effort associated with these standards as well as tagging every standard with the method through which it was collected (e.g. 20-yard dash, collected by stop watch or radar-based timing trap technology). The ultimate goal of these efforts is to publish this physical skills data in a manner so that the softball community can know the accuracy of the data and be able to discern from every level of the game (Pro down to U-11) the high, low and median by age/level.
