On a quest to identify our country’s standout amateur youth baseball players more efficiently, SportsBoard and Baseball Youth are joining forces. Baseball Youth scouts will now assess some 4,500 players at all Baseball Youth National Tryouts and Tournaments in 2015 using SportsBoard’s mobile player assessment solution on iPads and iPhones.
The partnership between SportsBoard and Baseball Youth, which launches later this month, allows some 60 scouts to spread out across the United States at tryouts and tournaments using a single platform to evaluate, rank and track the development of players over the course of the year. At nearly 30 national tryout events, scouts will use SportsBoard to rate players on everything from hitting, fielding, throwing, running, agility and pitching.
At the end of each event, players will receive a PDF evaluation via SportsBoard’s player locker system. They will also have the option of purchasing a video evaluation with voice-over feedback from coaches that can be watched in their player locker.
The Baseball Youth National Tryouts are for serious travel ball players who are looking to showcase their skills and take their game to the next level. At each tryout, Baseball Youth is looking for the top youth players to compete in various national events like the Baseball Youth All-American Games, Baseball Youth Future Games, Baseball Youth Elite Teams and the Baseball Youth All-Star Challenge at the National Youth Baseball Championships.
"Baseball Youth has been a leader in recognizing and showcasing some of the top amateur baseball players in the country," said Gregg Jacobs, SportsBoard’s CEO and Founder. "We are delighted that this partnership gives some Baseball Youth scouts something they’ve never had, an automated data collection system to streamline the assessment of all these great players."
"Partnering with SportsBoard and using their state-of-the-art platform to evaluate the many players we see each year is taking our National Tryouts to the next level," Baseball Youth President Scott Hacker said. "Utilizing the SportsBoard system benefits everyone at the tryouts, from the players, parents and coaches to the Baseball Youth scouts."
