Syncing with SportsBoard Server

Before syncing, turn off iPad, then turn it back on; this shuts down all Apps you are currently running and releases memory on the iPad which SportsBoard can then use for sync processing. Make sure you are in a location where 3G/4G or WiFi signal strength is strong. Make sure your iPad is NOT in "sleep" mode. Go to Settings-General-AutoLock and set to Never. You may also want to plug in the iPad when you sync so that it is not relying on battery power.

Backing Up Your iPad

Whenever using a device like a tablet computer to collect data that is very important, it is always good to back-up the database on the tablet after every use during which you have entered or updated data. Thus,West Shore Technologies, Inc. recommends you follow the instructions below to ensure that you don't lose any data you collect with SportsBoard Scout.

  1. Download the iExplorer application from the following site: http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
  2. After adding/editing/collecting data, plug the iPad into your computer and open the iExplorer application.
  3. When your iPad appears in the iExplorer window, select the dropdown next to "Apps", then select the "Scout" folder, then select "Documents".
  4. Drag the entire "Documents" folder to your desktop. This folder contains all the data within the Scout application and will ensure that the data is backed up in the event of a crash or sync error.
  5. Send your folder to your account manager at West Shore Technologies.
